Problem- Prove that equation 20.8 on page 750 in Atkins 9th edition is the correct formula for the most probable speed for a perfect gas molecule.

Eqtn 20.8: c*=((2RT)/M)^(1/2)

Basically he wants us to derive the equation but I have no idea how to let alone where to start.

Anyone can tell me how to solve it bit by bit so that I will be able to be aware of what is going on?
