The pros/cons of deploying a global positioning system (GPS) in the context of business decisions or DSS e.g., its use by Federal Express vs. employee privacy.

Introduction: People generally joke that "Big Brother is watching us." It's not such a joke any longer; today anyone can get personal information about you as long as he or she has your name.

And big brother is not always bad, for example, wouldn't you like to know where your son is when he is old enough to drive? You can if he has a cell phone. However, turn the table around; how would you feel if your CIO spied on you with the company issued cell phone that subscribes to a GPS monitoring system?

At some level, the Internet is the driving force behind the development of telecommunications and other information technologies; this being said, the topic of GPS continues to be an ongoing debate for many and there are no wrong or right answers. Using GPS has its place, I would like to be found when I run into a car problem or lost in hiking.

So there are always positives and negatives to new technologies, so in this assignment discuss the pros and cons of GPS systems to monitor the location of people.

Assignment: Prepare a response to the following discussion topic: The pros/cons of deploying a global positioning system (GPS) in the context of business decisions or DSS e.g., its use by Federal Express vs. employee privacy.
