Project Checkpoint Guests' First Impression at Event
It is true that a guest’s event experience starts as soon as they arrive at the parking lot. What type of experience for your guests do you want to start there? Random parking or an experience that makes them feel their presence is important? That experience is all in the event planner’s control.
This week’s Project Checkpoint is: What type of experience are you going to create for your guests from the parking lot to the actual event room? This is a very important start of the evening so think it out and watch the budget.
Will you try to have reserved parking spots near the venue? If you can’t get that arranged then will you still reserve a parking area and then have shuttles to take the guests to the front door of the venue? Will you have to secure a parking area away from the venue and then how do you get your guests to the event? What about the drop-off area? What will that look like? Will you have valet parking? Is the drop-off area decorated? How? Do you have staff to help guests out of the car? Will you just let guests find their own way to the event room?
