Subject: A letter of apology or denial to a business source (third party or customer, for instance)

The Letter of Apology or Denial

Your letter may be written for a customer, a third party, or some public entity, such as a community or government. Consider writing a letter that puts you in a situation that you could potentially experience. Please do not write a work of creative fiction. A situation for an apology could be an error in shipping a product, supplying a product or service, manufacturing a product, pricing a product, printing a label or advertising piece, or even missing an important meeting. A situation for a denial could be for a work reference, a pay increase, or a promotion.

Remember, you can usually soften the blow by beginning with a neutral statement or buffer. Recognizing a mistake and a sincere willingness to prevent further errors can go a long way.

You are being asked to include five statements, on a separate page.

5 Statements

1. Please provide a statement of purpose that explains why you are writing this letter

2. Please explain who your audience is and whythat individual is receiving this letter

3. Please explain what you want the recipient or viewer to do after reading or seeing your message.

4. Please indicate if you wish to receive feedback. Please provide a complete sentence.

5. Please provide a statement that includes the score (a number from 0 to 50) that you deserve (a number from 0 to 50) and why. You will receive this score if you complete all parts of this assignment as requested. If you provide a letter grade instead of a score, you will receive 35 points.

>>Length: Your letter should be approximately one page in business format. The five statements can be one sentence or more each.
