When a unit cooks for soldiers, there tends to be a lot of waste. Cooks have to follow production schedules and specific recipes. Often there is a dish that soldiers do not care for and a lot of it ends up in the trash. The military needs to reevaluate the menu items offered and remove items that tend to go to waste. The disliked item can be replaced with something of similar nutritional value, but that soldiers will actually eat. This will lead to reduced waste and better quality food for soldiers.
