In the United States, sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) is one of the leading causes of postneonatal deaths (those occurring between the ages of 28 days and 1 year). Thus far, the most signi?cant risk factor discovered for SIDS is placing babies to sleep in a prone position (on their stomachs). Suppose the rate of death due to SIDS is 0.00103 per year. In a random sample of 5000 infants between the ages of 28 days and 1 year, what is the approximate probability that the number of SIDS-related deaths will be at least 10? Interpret your results and state any assumptions.
