Principles Paper – Place, Promotion and Pricing. Paper should be approximately 5-7 pages. A bibliography must be included and properly noted in the paper using APA style. Items included in appendices must be referenced in the body of the paper.

Choose two different products and compare and contrast their distribution, promotion and pricing strategies. Discuss the following points of comparison:

-Distribution strategies aim to deliver the product to the right people in the right place. Look at your product and the competitor and discuss where the products are available and what type of distribution channels the companies utilize.

-Promotional Strategies aim to increase awareness, create interest, generate sales and /or create brand loyalty. You should discuss your company and its competitor’s approach to special offers and discounts in relation to their promotion strategies.

-Pricing decisions directly impact revenue. Examine the products pricing strategies of the two products in terms of the internal and external considerations that affect each product’s pricing decisions and identify the pricing approaches used by the two companies

1. You must use outside resources to support your recommendations (e.g. articles, websites, and other information sources) and are expected to cite those resources accordingly. A bibliography must be included and properly noted in the paper using APA style.

2. Clearly identify your product and the competitor’s product. Define your target market and your competitor’s target markets. Explain the similarities and differences.

3. Pricing strategy should be clearly explained and supported. Discuss how your pricing strategy fits your target market. Compare your price to your competition’s prices.

4. Distribution strategy should be clearly explained and supported. Discuss where your product is sold and how this strategy fits your target market. Compare your placement to your competition’s placement.

5. Discuss special offers, discounts and the promotional approach for your product and compare these to your competitions.

6. Summarize the key marketing opportunity or challenge posed by your placement strategy.

7. Summarize the key marketing opportunity or challenge posed by your pricing strategy.

8. Summarize the key marketing opportunity or challenge posed by your promotional stratey.
