Frederick Taylor's principles of scientific management in McDonalds: The principles of scientific management, as developed by Frederick Taylor, calls for use of scientific concepts that are meant for employees, which will enable them to increase their productivity and efficiency. McDonalds follows the principles of scientific management as developed by Taylor. Firstly, Taylor stated that workers should be given incentives for putting in more effort. McDonalds has a competitive wages and promotion programs in place. Secondly, McDonalds uses the principle of specialized training of staff. Staff are trained for management, operations, equipment handling, dealing with customers etc. Thirdly, McDonald's uses a uniform method for each worker to perform their tasks.

Max Weber's hierarchical structure in McDonalds: The Max Weber's hierarchical structure can be seen in McDonald's franchisee business model. The franchisee is responsible for paying the licensing rights to McDonald's. Secondly, there exists a line of promotion. A franchisee can be a part of McDonald's corporate structure by buying shares. In terms of hierarchy, the franchisee occupies the highest rank. The next in line is McManager. The manager is responsible for executing operations at the franchisee level. In terms of hierarchy, the McManager occupies the second rank after the franchisee. Manager is followed by assistant manager and then drive through operator. The next in line is the register operator, followed by maintenance specialist and grill operator.

Henri Fayol's administrative principles in McDonalds: Henri Fayol had laid principles like division of work, authority, discipline, unity of command etc. There is proper division of work in McDonalds with the grill operator doing the grilling part, the register operator managing collections etc. There is proper discipline that is followed among the employees. There is unity of command as the employees have one supervisor. Reward system is present and McDonalds rewards all its employees for their hard work. The decision making is centralized. There is a scalar chain and the employees know their position in the hierarchy. Order is maintained in the workplace. Turnover is low meaning stability of tenure. Lastly, there is espirit de corps and managers encourage and develop team spirit and unity.
