Question

The it-narrative is a type of fiction that presupposes consciousness in an inanimate object and attributes agency to that object (that is to say, the object generates a particular effect in the world). While we can agree that objects don't actually have consciousness, they do exert agency (think, for example, of your cell phone and how it structures your actions and behaviors). What object or class of objects discussed in the course seems-to you-to present such a pronounced sense of agency?
