Context

Public health promotion campaigns are often multi-faceted and one common component of these campaigns are posters. Posters are used as a tool to increase engagement and to allow information to be portrayed in an accessible format. As a health promotion tool, a poster can overcome health literacy issues, attract interest from people of different ages, and culture backgrounds. The assessment offer students the opportunity to learn more about community health and health behaviour, consequently students will be able to translate the concepts of communication strategies and community capacity building into public health interventions

Task Summary

To complete a Group Assignment, you will be allocated into a group, once you know the group you are in, work out the best way to communicate with your group for the development of the Assignment (e.g., Group on Blackboard, zoom, Skype, telephone, and/or email, Google Docs or any other method).

Students are requested to work closely with their group to develop a health promotion campaign poster for the health promotion to address the health issue in the given scenario. Support your point of view with the credible evidence sources

Instructions

Choose one scenario from the given list provided by your Learning Facilitator. The given scenario will provide details of community health issues and the specific health promotion which has been implemented/proposed to address those community health issues. You are requested to work closely with your group to develop a campaign poster for health promotion drawn from critical analysis and applying theory into practice based on the chosen scenario context. The aim of your poster is to improve the communication between community and health promotors to enhance or sustain the success of the health promotion, and eventually could build community capacity and empowerment.

The scenario will be provided separately.

1. Read the chosen community health and health promotion scenario carefully.
2. Seek further information to provide a brief context of the community health in the scenario and critical analysis the health promotion implemented/proposed in the scenario.
3. Develop a poster that could improve the communication between community and health promotors by applying health promotion strategies and community capacity building concepts and , communication strategies.
4. Present your poster in class covering the following topics:
• What health promotion strategies has been applied in your poster
• What communication strategies has been used in your poster
• How your poster could enhance or sustain the success of the health promotion,
• How your poster could help build community capacity and empowerment in this health promotion program.
