Budgeting is a skill required of any entrepreneur. Yet most entrepreneurs are not accountants. Still, developing budgeting skills is necessary both for securing funding as well as to ensure you will have enough capital to establish your company. The readings this week present both methods and tools for developing financial projections.

  • Briefly describe your new business idea from Week 1 and delineate your initial assumptions on sales, source of funds, capital requirement, and use of funds with supporting commentary.
  • Then describe what changes in the business environment would cause the assumptions that you listed in your assumption sheet to no longer be valid? Be sure to provide your rationale.
