Fluid Mechanics - Analysis of Pipe Network

For the hypothetical pipe network given below, which has 1 source reservoir, 2 elevated tanks, 13 junction nodes, 15 pipes, 3 pumps and 1 check valve, complete the full hydraulic simulation for 48 hrs with the help of EPANET software. Prepare a report discussing the methodology you have used in completing the following tasks. Briefly discuss your interpretation of the results (graphs).

1. Briefly explain the hydraulic analysis used in the EPANET.

2. Prepare the network and complete hydraulic analysis.

3. Present the graph(s) showing the variation of water level in tank(s).

4. Present the graph showing system flow variation

5. Estimate the cost of pumping over a year.

6. Present the graph showing pressure distribution contours at time 10:00 hrs.

7. Present the pressure profile (at 12:00 hrs) plot for nodes t6, n6, n5 and t5.
