The purpose of this lab is to construct a practical Colpitts RF Oscillator circuit with MultiSIM. The frequency of output waveforms will be measured using a virtual oscilloscope. Students will gain an appreciation for the effect biasing resistors have on the output frequency of an oscillator.

  • Construct the Colpitts Oscillator in Figure 2 in the document Week 4 - RF Oscillator.pdf with MultiSIM
  • Using the values of RG from the homework capture screenshots of the output waveform Vout for each case.
  • Measure the frequency of the output waveforms
  • Paste screenshots of measurements into a Word document entitled "Lab4_StudentID".
  • Upload file "Lab4_StudentID"
