You work for the regional train system, and they want you to create a data science "model" to analyze CCTV video footage in order to figure out which train/subway lines and stations experience more safety issues (crime, injuries, etc.), particularly ones in poorer parts of the city. The upside may be safer commutes for regular riders during their daily trips. The downside is that those same riders may be exposed to more potential surveillance and public scrutiny. Is this ethical? Why or why not? Do the potential safety benefits outweigh the costs? Why or why not? What safeguards could we implement?
