Recalling CH10, we discussed observational learning. It is when someone performs an activity, another person witnesses it and learns how to imitate it through observational learning.
Observational learning can either have a positive effect on the observer or the negative effect.
Considering from the young generation to middle age and to old, many people are part of social media, actively or just being and an observer.
As the study concluded,the viewers' positive perceptions of the effects of alcohol intake may be influenced by what they see on television. Even though the study results has many limitations, it still shows the accuracy of how alcohol consumption is linked to perceived similarity.
Having searched articles with similar experiments, the article Exposure to TV alcohol ads linked to drinking behavior offers some of the most accurate estimations. The study revealed a relationship between exposure to such advertising and drinking behavior and offers some of the most accurate estimates yet of Americans' exposure to such ads, with more than one on average daily. It is not only the perceived behavior being repeated in life, but also includes TV ads using the successful people to portray alcohol consumption to success while ignoring the risks of it.
