We have a small wood deck, 8' by 8' This deckshould only have a max of five adults on it. Oneside of deck is attached to the wall of the house, and out from this wall is two post six feet from the wall. Problemis the load bearing strength of the beam that sits on top of the two posts. Please give the numberal value of the following strengths of the support beam. This is sort of oneverses (vs.) the other.
A. A single 12" by 2" vs. two 8" by 2" boardsnailed together.
B. A single 12" by 2" vs. two 10" by 2" boards nailedtogether.
When giving numeral values, please keep it simple.
If you are unsure of all the data, please give me the weight strength (as a support beam) of a 8 foot 2" by 8", then a 8 foot 2"by 10", and finally a 8 foot 2" by 12"
a) determine by direct integration the polar moment of inertia of the semiannular area shown with respect to point O b) Using the result of part a, determine the moments of inertia of the given area with respect to the x and y axes
Sewage flows through a 12" diameter pipeline then through an 18" diamenter pipeline. The flow is the same (unknown) value in each pipe, and the slope is the same (unknown) contant value for both pipes.
A gas solution has the following composition, Oxygen = 35 g Nitrogen = 40 g Neon = 25 g Calculate mass fractions of all components. If you remove Neon, how much you have to remove to reduce mass fraction to 0.1
For the soil and foundation conditions in fig. 1, determine the time required to reach 75% consolidation in the clay given the consolidation test results and determine the coefficient of consolidation
For each radio produced during months 1 and 2, a $10 variable cost is incurred; for each radio produced during month 3, a $12 variable cost is incurred. The inventory cost is $1.5 for each radio in stock at the end of a month.
The flowrate in a rectangular channel is 20 m3/s. The width of the channel is 4 m and the depth of flow is 5 m. If there is an increase in the channel bottom elevation with NO energy loss,
Temperature is 20°C. A constriction in the pipeline causes velocity to increase to 13 m/s within the constriction. Assuming that Bernoulli's equation applies (i.e. p + ½ ? v2 = constant), is there a chance that cavitation will occur
Assuming that the aggregate has negligible absorption, calculate the temperature of the fresh concrete. Also calculate how much ice is required to reduce the temperature of the fresh concrete to 61 ºF.
A steady fire with an energy release rate of 500 kW occurs in a room 3m wide, 3m long, and 2.4 m high, with a door opening which is 1.8 m high and 0.6m wide. the ambient temperature is 20 degree celcius.
A 500 L (132 gal) tank contains 255 mg/L 2,4,6-trichlorophenol dissolved in trichloroethylene (TCE). What is the 2,4,6-trichlorophenol concentration in ppm Assume the temperature of the system is 20 degrees C.
Determine the minimum horizontal force P required to hold the crate from sliding down the plane. The crate has a mass of 70kg and the coefficient of static friction between the crate and the plane is μs = 0.45.
A body with a mass of 250 kg is supported by the flexible cable system. Determine by analysis which of the cable A, B, C, or D has the largest tension.
