The Medical Officer of Health in charge of day clinics in the Butterworth district is planning for the expansion of the medical facilities at these clinics based on the growth in demand for the clinics' services.

She therefore asked a statistical analyst to assist in preparing a forecast of future demand for the clinics' services based on the attendance at these clinics over the past six years. The Medical Officer was able to supply the analyst with quarterly attendance records for the period 2006 to 2011.
