You are the CEO of a toy company starting to plan your holiday season line. Your company anticipates the hottest toy this season will be RoboWoman, a battery-operated crime fighter and superheroine. RoboWoman has a wholesale price of $25.50 and retail price of $45.00. Your company budgeted a gross profit of $15.00 per unit. You receive a call from a manufacturing broker you know who says if you hire his company that he can produce your product locally, using people recently released from prison who are trying to transition back into society. His proposal will increase the cost to manufacture the toy and if you choose to do business with him your gross profit will drop to $11.25 per unit. You will also have to cut your employees end of year bonus because of the profit decrease.
