In 1967, Francis J. Aguilar, a Harvard University professor, was credited for founding the PEST Analysis in his novel "Scanning the Business Environment". Originally, the process was titled ETPS and included the areas of economic, technical, political and social influences. Over the years, the names and acronyms have changed. Today, in online situations, PEST is still most often used. In the United Kingdom, PEST was changed to PESTLE in order to include the legal and environmental aspects of the process. In this week's threads, we will utilize the PESTLE approach to discuss businesses and organizations that are in the news and analyze their opportunities and threats.
