There are very few aspects of human resource management and employment within an organization that are not governed by laws and regulations. Performance management is no exception to that rule. These systems are in place, not only for the benefit of the organization but for the employee as well. If an organization finds that an employee falls short of expectations or lacks a necessary skill and is underperforming in his or her position, a company must identify training options or alternative employment opportunities within the organization. Consider what other laws and regulations exist to govern performance management programs.
