Case: As a manager of a retail business, you need to prepare a work schedule for 8 employees. You have a co-manager (you can name them anything you want) I am your district manager and you must meet all scheduling policies that are listed below:

There must be a minimum of two workers in the store at all times, you can have more. A manager counts as one worker.
Don't worry about scheduling employees' lunches.
Full-time employees must be scheduled for 36-40 hours a week.
Part-time employees must be scheduled for 10-24 hours a week.
One manager must be working each day to open and close the store; it does not need to be the same manager.
Part and full-time personnel, except managers, can work a maximum of 8 hours per day.
For every $100 of sales per hour, you must schedule an employee for one hour. For example, if projected sales are $1600, 1600/100=16 hours can be scheduled that day.
Managers' hours are not included in the projected sales because you are paid on a fixed salary basis.
Managers' should work a minimum of 40 hours per week and a maximum of 60 hours per week.
Only one full-time employee can be on vacation per day. If a full-time employee is on vacation, you have to include their hours on the daily sales forecast even though they are not working. For example, you could put "Robert 8-Vacation" on the schedule.

After MealKit4U was founded in 2020, the commercial viability of the business was uncertain because delivery costs were very high. After careful analysis, senior management decided to introduce a standard $10 delivery fee, with free delivery when the order quantity exceeds 12 meals. The introduction of the new delivery structure resulted in a sharp increase in the number of meals per delivery, thereby improving contribution margins. With healthy contribution margins, MealKit4U's future prospects seemed promising.

In 2023, MealKit4U's Board of Directors decided to focus their strategy on increasing sales volume. They aimed to achieve the increased sales targets by developing a better understanding of the particular needs of their customers and by enhancing the quality of their meals and associated services.

Market research indicates that customers would like to know when they can expect to receive their meals before they confirm their online order. The scheduled time can easily be generated by the software. However, actual deliveries are rarely on schedule. Sometimes they arrive early, and other times late. The customer service team at Mealkit4U have put forward a proposal to specify the expected delivery time within an interval of time, that is, a scheduled delivery time within a ± interval. For example, if the time interval is 45 minutes, and the scheduled time is 11:15 am, then the customer would be informed that they can expect their delivery to arrive between 10:30 am and 12:00 noon (11:15 am ± 45 minutes).

Before Mealkit4U make such a commitment to customers, they need to be confident that at least 95% of deliveries will occur within the specified interval. The courier has provided a sample of the scheduled delivery times and the actual delivery times for the previous three months
