A local healthcare company has put out a request for proposal (RFP) to consulting firms to partner with an HRIS vendor to implement a new system. This company currently has 350 employees with expected growth over the next 2-3 years doubling their staff. As the Managing Partner for the consulting firm, you will need to do some due diligence in preparation for the RFP.
The assignment is to:
1) Conduct research on the product offerings from three major HRIS vendors. Table 5.3 in the textbook provides a listing of some vendors, but more can be found at www.IHRIM.com and you can conduct more research on your own to find additional vendors (Google). What are the features and benefits of the HRIS Systems?
2) Answer the following questions about the vendor:
Company/Vendor Name
Product Name
Functionality in the system (which HR functions are covered)
System Pricing (if available)
One unique and interesting functionality that surprised them.
A summary of customer reviews outlining the strengths and weaknesses of the product.
1) Determine that the company wants the HRIS and why;
2) determining the details for the RFP content (Who, what, when, how, why);
3) post the RFP and for how many days;
4) where to post the RFP;
5) will there be a question and answer period, etc...
HRIS implementation:
1) identify core team to learn system and test;
2) internal marketing to staff on the new system;
3) set up department staff testing, etc.
3) Prepare a gantt chart for the steps to take to prepare for the RFP process and implementing an HRIS for the Company.
