Attorney Smith employs Paralegal Brown in his criminal defense firm. Smith tells Brown to look at a new client's case file and determine what an appropriate fee would be. Brown sets a fee that is roughly double what other lawyers in the area charge, and because the client doesn't know any better, he agrees to pay it.
