One out of 5000 individuals in a population carried a defective gene. A random sample of 1000 individuals is studied. This can be treated as either a binomal probability problem or a poisson problem with parameter Lamda .2.

a) What is the probability that excatly 1 of the sample individuals carries the gene? Use a binomal distribution with 5 digits of accuracy.

b) What is the probability that exactly 1 of the sample individulas carries gene ? Use Poisson distrubition with 5 digits of accuracy.

c) What is the probability that fewer than 2 of the sample individuals carry the gene? Us a Poisson distribution with 5 digits of accuracy.

d) What is the mean number of sample individuals that carry the gene? Use a Poisson distribution.

e) What is the mean number of sample individuals that carry the gene? Use a Poission disturibution.
