I think we need to understand that any project, campaign in the field of marketing, advertising, PR and begins with an important stage – research. The main purpose of the study is to identify the problems that need to be investigated while using the methods of collection, analysis, and perception of information that will be in demand for this problem.
I believe that the main purpose of quantitative research is to obtain quantitative information about the objects of research: buyers, consumers, enterprises, organizations, etc. This information shows the behavior of consumers, their reactions to certain activities, actions, goods, services and is presented in numerical terms. It is important that when you acquire the necessary information, you can study the opinion of people, that is, to conduct a sample, and this makes it possible to obtain objective and reliable information.
We also have qualitative methods are most often used in conjunction with quantitative research methods, as using two methods of research can be more accurately assess the effectiveness of PR – activities.
Why it's so important? The main goal of qualitative research is to form a hypothesis and collect information in a free form using specific methods, at the same time, based on the understanding and interpretation of data. That is, the basis of qualitative research methods are not numbered, but words (unstructured text materials containing evaluative statements of people, their opinions about a specific topic that is related to PR).
After analyzing and drawing conclusions, the obtained materials are used in the planning of PR – activities. Why it's significant? The Qualitative methods help to identify the problem of inefficiency of PR-activities and allow the study to determine the purpose and objectives of the PR – campaign, with which you can create something that will be interesting to the necessary audience.
