You must use Microsoft Project for this assignment. There are many sites online showing how to use MS Project. A few are listed on D2L.

Using MS Project (either 2013 or 2016 version) you are to create a new project called “upgrade student computer labs”. This project encompasses the upgrade of all computer labs on campus. Among the tasks that must be accomplished are the following:

• Assess the needs of all Professors who use the computer labs (including hardware and software)

• Test all current hardware in the labs

• Decide what hardware must be replaced

• Decide what software must be installed and in which labs

• Etc…

• Your project must have at least 10 tasks.  

The first task is the beginning of the project and the last task is the end of the project. You may make the tasks anything you like (could include the tasks above). For each of these tasks create a time line of your choice.  

• Your project must have at least 10 Resources.

Of the 8 resources, some are to be WORK and at least 2 are to be COST. You must enter all pay information for the WORK resources. Some of your resources are to have hourly rates and salary per week. You must also add days off and work week changes (only 4 days per week) for some of the WORK resources. For each of the Resources, enter a note descripting the Resource.

• Assign resources to all of your tasks.  

For some of the Tasks, assign more than one resource to the task. When you add more than one resource to a task and may have to change the action for the task.

After you have completed the Resource assignments, you are to do the following:

• Create a word document with your name and date at the top.

• Next type the name of your Project

• View the timeline on the screen, take a screen shot of that screen and copy this to your word document

• View the Cost table on the screen, take a screen shot of that screen and copy this to your word document

• View the Resource Overview Report on the screen, take a screen shot of that report and copy this to your word document

• View the Project Statistics on the screen, take a screen shot of that report and copy this to your word document
