To test the effect of a physical fitness course on one's physical ability, the number of sit-ups that a person can do in one minute was recorded both before and after the course. Ten randomly selected participants scored as shown in the table below. Can we conclude at the a = 0.01 significance level that improvement took place? Assume that improvement means the person can do more sit-ups after the course.
