Think about the different types of motivation outlined in your text. Are you intrinsically or extrinsically motivated? When you are working with people who are motivated differently, how do you get them to accomplish the needed task well?

Using the information in your book, specifically outline the steps you would take when having a "motivational" discussion with an employee.

What motivational theory (from the book) would you employ? Consider the following:

1. What guideline (acronym) can a manager, employee, or person use to ensure goals are quantifiable and motivating?

2. Expectancy Theory: Describe a time when you were motivated by the expectancy theory model. Include how Maslow's Need Hierarchy played a part in this performance-related belief experience.

3. After you have considered the different types of motivation each employee may need in order to accomplish the goals identified by the organization, identify what you can do differently than what you've been doing to help others remain motivated and productive. What motivational theory will you use?
