Assignment 1 Corporate Sustainability Best Practice and Performance
Select a corporate organisation operating in Australia or Asia that demonstratessustainability best practices. Your chosen organisation must be actively pursuing strong environmental, social, cultural and economic outcomesas evidenced by the implementation of multiple sustainability projects.
1. Provide an overview of the organisation's main products or services and identify the major causes of the organisation's unsustainability over the product life cycle.
2. Drawing on actual evidence, describe how this organisation implements sustainability best practices, emphasising the environmental and social impacts of these practices.
3. With reference to the organisation's sustainability or corporate social responsibility report, analyse and describe the sustainability performance of the organisation.

Do not select an organisation from the internet.You cannot collect the required information from company websites.
Selection of an appropriate organisation is critical to successful performance in this assessment. You must have access to the organisation via employment, family connections, or you can select a local business with which you are familiar and that you can approach to request specific information to enable you to complete this assessment.
1. Identify your organisation's core business, size, location(s) and major products and/or services.
2. Select the appropriate operating cycle template, and present the production cycle for your organisation's main product or service as a diagram with detailed descriptive annotation. If necessary, select one of the organisation's main products or services.
3. Prepare a detailed input-output chart that identifies all major resource and energy inputs and pollution and production outputs at each separate stage in the production and distribution system for your organisation's major product/service. You are not required to include actual quantities of inputs and outputs.
4. Utilising your input-output chart, identify the major causes of environmental, social, cultural and economic unsustainability, with direct reference to specific inputs and outputs at critical stages along the production, operating and distribution cycles.
5. Drawing on the principles of business sustainability,design a closed loop production system for your organisation's major product/service to achieve sustainability in the long term.
a. Provide practical solutions to the organisation's unsustainable natural resource use, and unsustainable waste, supply chain and transport systems.
b. Design a system which removes all of the major causes of unsustainability.
c. Make recommendations for design improvements to the product/service and the production system.
Assignment 3 Sustainability Essay
You are required to select one of the following topics and perform extensive research to perform the task provided. We have provided a supplementary reading list to initiate your research into your chosen topic.
A. Sustainable Business Models - Discuss the optimal design of a sustainable business. Clearly compare and contrasteco-efficiencywithsustainability in the long-term, and the importance of operating within an optimal industrial ecosystem.
B. Social entrepreneurship - Drawing on the principles of social entrepreneurship, discuss the idea that all business organisations should makea net positive social impact by solving specific social problems.
C. Waste technology - Evaluate the various technological,behavioural and designsolutions for the management of industrial waste.
D. Climate change-Select an organisation that is exposed to a high level of risk due to climate change. Analyse this organisation's climate risk, and recommend a detailed strategic response that the organisation can implement.This response must include design, technological, behavioural and cultural changes.
E. Energy and carbon management - Evaluate various technological, behavioural and cultural solutions for the sustainable use of energyand transition to a zero-carbon economy, within the boundaries of current knowledge.
