Case Scenario:

A mother brought her 12-year old child to the hospital due to the recurrent fever for 3 days. The nurse assessed the child with the following vital signs; temperature 38.8 °C/axilla, pulse rate 110 beats/min, respiratory rate 25 breaths/min, and blood pressure 100/70. The child was seen and examined by the pediatrician. A series of diagnostic tests were done. A paracetamol (Naprex) 225 mg to be given IM (-) ANST was ordered. The drug preparation was; paracetamol (Naprex) 150 mg/ml, 1 ampule contains 2 ml. Prior to the drug administration, a skin test must be done.
