Judging from the thoughts thus far you can imagine what the discussions would be IF we were in a large organization. Many perspective AND many approaches toward accomplishing the same thing. One aspect that I feel is important is the element of commitment. Whether individual OR organizational, the company must have a long-term commitment to cultural diversity. Often times, diversity strategies can boil down to short-term approaches or initiatives that fade away. I’ve worked for many organizations during my career that roll out cultural diversity initiatives, only to see them not be fully implemented or forgotten. This actually does more harm than good. It's important that organizations and managers are committed to taking these strategies down the road for the long haul. Our global workforce environments will only get increasingly diverse, hence it's important look at this as a long term effort. What are your thoughts - are organizations/managers willing to look at the long-term for such strategies? Why or why not?
