Problem Statement

The main objective of Phoenix is the satisfaction of its staffing needs at minimum possible total cost viz. incremental training and salary cost during the period of 5 months starting from May and ending at September. Thus it is required to determine the number of existing employees that is required each month to begin the two-month training program along with the number of new employees that is required each month to begin the three-month training program. For finding the solution of the given problem, a hiring plan needs to be developed depicting the optimum mix of current and new employees for the training program.
