Homework: The use of information within a company is most effective when a defined information management strategy is in place. A strategy best manages the information as an asset of the company. You are an information technology specialist in your company. You are responsible for the new integration of a computer system that serves Human Resources, Accounting, Purchasing and Inventory Management. In the past, each department took it for granted that all information technology problems and question would be handled as they occur. It is now your job to implement an action plan where each department submits request to you directly in order to ensure your time is used efficiently and IT resources are readily available.

In order to set up the action plan please address the following questions:

A: Define the initiatives that are considered relevant to your information management strategy action plan and road map for the new system integration.

B: As a part of the integration of the new system you must identify proficiencies that each department should have when requesting help or IT fixes. What would these be and why?

C: What benefits do you foresee by making sure each department has specific proficiencies for requesting IT services and help?

D: Due to the introduction of the new initiatives and proficiencies how will you measure the value of the results achieved and introduce these to management?
