It can be established that capitalism as a system has its benefits from both a political and financial standpoint. However, to say it is beneficial to everybody in Australia is simply incorrect. Since its beginning, the need for continuously expanding markets to accommodate for the increased production and accumulation of capital created a clear divide in society between what is known as the proletariat and the bourgeoisie. This is the working class who own their labour, which is often exploited, and the small portion of society's capital owners, who continue to get richer, while the poor get poorer. This does not result in equal benefits, as it favours businesses and the government. Simultaneously, society's remainder is left to work and maintain economic movement to increase business and government capital.
