The paper aims to evaluate literature review on the kinetic study of the Menschutkin reaction. However, the effect of solvents on the reaction rate and effect of substitution and leaving group on the reaction rate has been determined. It is identified that the Menschutkin reaction is regarded as a vital example to study the solvent effects on the rate of reaction. The menschutkin reaction belongs to the important class of nucleophilic substitution reactions generally SN2 reactions and occur when the tertiary amine reacts with compound to create ammonium salt.
