1. Why is it necessary for senior management to step in rather than let the chiefs of the directorates handle the conflicts? It is necessary for the senior manager to step in because it is the senior manager responsibility to resolve conflict, organize structure, and prioritize. The senior manager is also supposed to staff and monitor.

2. What should the senior management team do to resolve the problem? The senior management team should assist the directorates with reorganizing and planning. Make sure the staffing is appropriate, and resources are being shared.

3. Let’s assume that the decision was to create a list that included all the projects from the four directorates. How many of the projects on the list should have a prior- ity number or priority code?

4. Can the directorate chiefs assign the priority, or must it be done with the involvement of senior management? It is better for the senior manager to prioritize with the team and reflect on why the project is prioritize that way. Thus, giving the directorates a better understanding of the priority.

5. How often should the list of prioritized projects be reviewed and who should attend the review meetings? Priority shifting should be avoided. The priority list should be reviewed 6. Suppose that some of the directorate chiefs refuse to assign resources according to the prioritized list and remain focused on their own pet projects. How should this issue now be resolved.
