Choose one of these companies to research. Visit the company's website, use a search engine, contact the companies training and development department (remember companies love to talk about what they do!), or look for references in publications such as training, T+D, Workforce, or HR Magazine. Prepare a report (not to exceed three pages) based on (a) why you believe the company was ranked in the top ten, (b) explaining the relationship between training and the and the company's competitiveness, business goals, and objectives and (c) include in either how they conducted a needs assessment, instructional methods, or how they motivate their trainees. (Hint: possible reasons a company might be ranked include the amount of money it devotes to training, the level of employee involvement in training, and the type of training used.)
