You have obtained a contract from a Cereal Manufacturer called Wonderfood in Auckland for chopped nuts. Wonderfood has indicated that they will purchase around 5 tonnes of chopped nuts per month. You will purchase a nut chopping machine and set up a small factory called "Chopped Nuts" to chop the nuts that wonderfood require. This is a great opportunity for you, but there are laws and quality requirements for any business that produces food products. It means that you need to have a food grade operation and a quality system that meets the requirements for food manufacture. Please research the laws and regulations that would apply and describe the important things that would be in your quality system to meet the food manufacture requirements. Your answer should briefly describe the regulations that apply and how "Chopped Nuts" will comply with each requirement. You should use the ISO9001 quality system as the framework for your quality system, but should show how the regulation requirements are met. The report should have an Introduction, a main body and a Conclusion. You do not have to include all headings and sub-headings in ISO9001, only pick those that would be important in the manufacture of chopped nuts.
