Please address a few of these issues using some of the content from this week. Please give your contributions some thoughtful consideration.

Given the theories we studied this week (Modernization, Dependency etc), would more localized systems of production make sense? In other words, the domestic approach to production Trump discussed early on (bring the jobs home rhetoric). Please don't immediately dismiss this question outright because it is associated with a Trump Administration proposal- please give it some thought.

  • Do you believe our elected leaders have been responsive to the economic struggles of the citizens? How might we address these issues?
  • Is the 'American Dream' still possible and what do you think the future holds?
  • What impact might local or domestic production have on global economic activity (think about our dependence on cheap products produced abroad and their reliance on those jobs)?
