According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the acceptable daily intake (ADI) of saccharin is 5 mg for a person with a body weight of 60 kg. If saccharin is used as an additive, it must be included on the food label and cannot exceed certain limits. Independent random samples of 12-ounce bottles of iced tea from two different manufacturers were obtained, and the amount of saccharin in each drink was measured (in mg). The summary statistics were as follows: Fishing Creek, n₁= 20, s₁² = 7.84; Honest Tea, n₂ = 15, s₂²= 2.89.
