In an increasingly globalised world, the aviation industry is becoming more standardised and connected. There are commonalities in policies, procedures and practices that cross the international boundaries. A good working knowledge of the international framework provides an insight into the day to day activities of the industry.

When an aircraft on an international flight leaves one country to fly to another, possibly crossing other countries along the way, there is a common support framework that has been put in place by the 'Chicago' Convention (including the creation of ICAO), the International Air Transport Association, the contracting States to the 'Chicago' Convention, and supra-national regulators.

Set Question. Placing emphasis on the contemporary world, describe the international civil aviation common support framework that standardises and connects the aviation industry to ensure the industry is a safe and efficient mode of transport?
