Argue with this response listed below Your opinion - I do not agree that an ineffective presentation by a single witness can lead to a potential acquittal, regardless of all other evidence. How can you argue to this post? Argue it to your best abilities. Response to opinion - I disagree with your post. Although a lot of pieces goes into a trial like a puzzle, one single witness could tank the whole trial. What if the witness is crucial to the whole case? The state has only circumstantial evidence and they need the eye witness to place the accused at the scene? What if the witness is the arresting officer, and can not properly identify that the accused committed the crime? It could be argued by the defense that the state did not meet the burden of proof required by law. Keeping in mind that jurors are people who have their own bias and beliefs going into a trial, even though they are told to weigh each piece, do they? Or do they find the witnesses body language and testimony so bizarre that they doubt everything presented thus far? I believe it has been showed in many trials that one witness really can make or break the case.
