America has become one of the highly industrialized countries, resulting in increased population longevity in terms of the approaches to work and retirement. Therefore, there have been many challenges regarding the policy placed on American citizens, and these issues have been seen in other European countries like the UK (Berkman and Truesdale, 2023). Currently, life expectancy has been deemed to improve over the years. Therefore, nations like the US have created central policies that have responded to the aging population by cutting pension benefits to ensure that people do not go into early retirement and work longer. Therefore, the retirement ages have been increased as of 2023, and it is now hard to retire if the employee has yet to reach a certain age. The policymakers in the US have argued that working longer is seen as a win-win-win situation for all parties, including the employers and employees because it could cut the costs of the pension benefits for the aging population and also provide a larger pool for the experienced labor while increasing the elderly employees' financial security. Only some parties, however, are happy with this policy of delayed retirement. The issue is that the delayed retirement policy can only apply to the senior employees who are still working and negatively affect those who have retired from their respective organizations.
