A company is considering outsourcing its inbound and outbound logistic operations to a logistics service provider. The company procures vegetables, fishes and meats and transform them into chilled and frozen food for export. So far they have received quotations from several logistics service providers, some of them called themselves third-party logistics (3PL) service providers, fourth-party logistics (4PL) service providers, and lead logistics service providers (LLP).

Based on your experience within international logistics and supply chain, advice this company on the differences of these types of service providers and what criteria should be used to select the type of service provider.
