Working individually, you will produce a report that critically analyses an entrepreneurial or family business with which you are familiar.

Drawing on an understanding of the module, the analysis must include each of the following sections:

Describe the firm, its business context and its characteristics (15%);

Conduct a detailed analysis for the chosen firm and 2-3 challenges it faces (50%);

Provide a detailed set of recommendations to improve the management of the firm (25%);

Provide a self-reflection that considers what you have learned about your own capabilities for managing an entrepreneurial or family from your engagement with the module (10%).

An entrepreneurial or family business with which you are familiar could be your own family's business, a business in which you have worked or an alternative real-life case study approved by the Module Co-ordinator or Tutor. Detailed guidance and support will be provided in seminar sessions.
