1. Why is the identification of the real problem the first and most important step in the decision-making process? How does attribution theory explain mistakes that can be made as managers and employees work together to explain why the problem occurred?
2. A recent conflict Jill had with Henry involved Henry asking to change a scheduled meeting time a couple of times in a 24 hour period by text messaging Jill, and Henry took time to respond to each of Jill's questions on what he was bringing to the meeting and when he was available to meet. The time delay in responding was more than an hour at a time and this caused conflict within Jill as Henry had already changed the meeting time a few days ago and is requesting another change. Using the Conflict Management Styles model, identify which style would be used to address this conflict. Using the concepts from in the ORGB textbook by Nelson, Quick, describe what strategies you would use in resolving the conflict.

4. How would a manager apply Mazlow's theory of motivation to help employees to either become more productive, feel more engaged, or improve their commitment to their work?
5. Consider the resistance to change factors: fear of the unknown; fear of loss; fear of failure; disruption of interpersonal relationships; personality and justice issues; politics; and cultural assumptions and values; as outlined in the ORGB textbook by Nelson, Quick. Suppose you want to change your organization's culture. What sort of resistance would you expect from employees? How would you deal with this resistance
