It's quite interesting to see how different religions and kingdoms were able to develop and expand over time, and Islam is no exception. I think a common thread we see between the maior religions that we've studied is the importance of trade routes and the movement of people whether missionaries or just traders in order to spread these ideas. For example, we've seen this so far in China through the spread of Buddhism through the Silk Road, Christianity in the Kingdom of Aksum as well as the Holy Roman Empire, and as you mentioned the spread of Islam across many major areas. Do you think there was any particular aspect of Islam that allowed it to spread more rapidly in certain areas?
