Implications of our business on the problem space- how our solution is effective CINDY.

You need to read the presentation and write .

1. We have come up with solution for one of the well-needed creative industries in Sydney - ARCHITECTURE. Yes, we see countless construction of building project all over the city, especially in the developing Western suburbs, but this design industry is getting less innovative and creative, instead focusing all their energy on profitability. Seeing this, we've found that smaller, less well-known architecture firms don't have the platform to where they can display their innovative ideas - so that is exactly what we have created. With our business idea, architects are able to present their beautiful designs to potential developers and investors to gain greater exposure to the entire industry.

2. Elaborating on the biggest concern in the industry right now - large foreign architecture firms are dominating the market. As you would already know, a lot of Sydney's infrastructure is foreign owned or funded, largely from the strongly developing Chinese economy. This means the design stage is usually settled overseas or through large transnational corporations - leaving smaller or newly established local architecture companies without luck to show their creative abilities and contributions to the market. Thus overtime, the industry has been lacking the innovative quality that is sought out for the constantly industrializing city of Sydney.

3. The enduring demand for building and construction is why it is important to maintain and improve the inventive quality of this design industry. The stakeholders we've identified as critical are developers and local governments. Developers essentially hold the ultimate power as they are always looking for the newest and most beautiful designs on offer, while also being technically feasible. Due to this, they usually lean towards international or large firms which may only have a focus on profitability - resulting in the same standard building designs. Local councils, especially around the Western suburbs such as Parramatta and Tempe also have a big impact in the architecture field. With upcoming ventures such as $2 billion Parramatta Square urban renewal projects and renovations to the WSU Campus, local councils have a large say in the use of creativity in architecture.

4. So essentially, we have created an idea of an interactive website, where we help display the great works and sample designs of Sydney architecture firms and independent architects to potential investors. By paying a reasonable enrolment fee, these architects are able to create an online business profile, and we - partnered with the Australian Institute of Architects - are able to show their strengths and specialties, connecting them to interested developers looking for innovative designs. Our website is designed in such a way that will allow ease of use for investors looking for architects. They can search for key words, filter through a wide variety of specialty categories such as residential, retail, education facilities, and so on, filter by regional locations, price ranges and eventually showing results of architects most suitable to their needs.

5. Getting in to the technical side of things, our business will be running based two sources of income - an ongoing membership fee and advertising commissions. Customers would pay an enrolment fee which covers the development of their profile as well as three complimentary months of being on our database. After this period, they would be able to see if our service is worthwhile and start paying a monthly membership fee. Related advertisements from constructions companies and industry suppliers would also be featured on our website. We ensure these sources of revenue outweigh our expenses, which mainly involve IT start-up costs, promotional marketing and on-going site maintenance. We have reached out to social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook to gather the public's opinion on the lack of modernism in architecture and came to the solution of this convenient platform.

6. The basis of our business idea encourages developers to reach out to smaller architects as they are able freely access our online database of fantastic architects. Much like the beautiful Central Park featured vertical garden towers, we are aiming to bring new and innovative ideas back into mix of Sydney's plain industrialization. The more designs being executed the more creativity and exposure these small firms will gain, providing more variety in the field of architecture. We have also noticed the struggle for aspiring graduates in architecture to break into the industry. With the relationship we are building with theses architecture firms, we plan to provide pathways towards trainee and internship programs, giving them practical work experience. With this platform, we can better develop communication between designers, constructors, investors and developers that may lead to cooperative partnerships producing great works of art.

7. To sum up, our aim is to make connections between developers and architects, giving greater exposure to the ones who don't have as much reputation. This will slowly but surely provide a greater variety of designers in the market, showing the creative quality that needs to be reflected in such an industry. We believe our exciting business idea will have a fantastic contribution and return, and we would love to have your participation in this developing process.
