You have been asked to coordinate a group of students in planning and implementing a special lecture series at your university. The lecture series will be six months after your group commissioned and is designed to be a major part of your university's twentieth anniversary celebrations. The idea behind the series is to invite two relevant and appropriate experts on a subject matter of interest to students, teachers and parents- the subject areas could be academic or non-academic; perhaps the ideal arrangement could be having one subject area that is traditionally seen as academic (e.g. something about the history of your country) while the other would traditionally be viewed as non-academic (e.g. agro-processing/ owning a popular small business). Bearing in mind group composition and dynamics, how would you go about planning and implementing this lecture series? How many members would you want in your group? What skills would you hope to cultivate? What challenges are you likely to meet and overcome along the way?
