Imagine an experiment in which a mixture composed of the following five compounds is subjected to TLC anaylsis: Ph-OCH3, Ph-COOH, Ph-CH2CH3, PhCOCH3. (Ph= Phenyl , C6H5). Arrange the five compounds in order of increasing Rf when Benzene is used as the eluent. And what differences would be observed, if any, if Ethanol were used as the eluent in place of Benzene?
